USC head coach Steve Sarkisian took a difficult loss against Washington on Thursday night, and it has some calling for his job in hopes of hiring Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, according Dan Wolken USA Today Sports.

Prior to last night's loss, the Trojans had gone 14 seasons without back-to-back home losses, according to Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman. Sarkisian has a mixed resume, as he turned around Washington's program before joining USC.

But, he has also has never won double-digit games in a season, something that many think USC considers a necessity, according to JJ Stankevitz of College Football Talk.

Sarkisian and USC were picked as the early favorite to win the Pac-12 conference, and his team's poor play along with his drunken rallying cry earlier this year will likely lead to his end at USC, according to Wolken.

Sarkisian would likely need to lead USC undefeated the rest of their schedule, and they still have Notre Dame, Utah, California, Oregon, and UCLA on their schedule. It seems unlikely that he'll be able to complete this season with a satisfying record, and they will likely lead to speculation as to who should fill his role.

Chip Kelly is probably the favorite to fill the role after Sarkisian, but Kelly is reportedly staying put with the Philadelphia Eagles at least for now. The Eagles are 1-3 and are on the bottom of the NFC East, but with the division leaders all tide at 2-2 the Eagles are definitely not out of the race.

The prospective of Kelly at USC could be huge one though, as he would probably pull even more recruits in Southern California than he did at Oregon. Kelly right now is a "misfit" as the Eagles head coach, and would be a "perfect" fit as the Trojans head coach, according Wolken.

The season is still early for both college and the NFL, but it seems pretty certain that Sarkisian has run out of time in Southern California barring a seven-game win streak. Kelly could turn USC back into the powerhouse it was under Pete Carroll, but his interest seems to be focused on the professional level right now.
