United won its opening Champions League game last month against Bayer Leverkusen, 4-2.  The club will look to build on its Champions League victory with another win on Wednesday, hoping to turn around a poor start to the season under new boss David Moyes.

United fell to West Brom on Saturday, dropping Moyes' team to 12th place in the Premier League.  In six games, United has two wins, one draw and three losses for seven points.  The pressure is growing on Moyes to start winning.

"I have been in (difficult) situations very similar to this art my old clubs Everton and Preston," Moyes said, via IB Times.  "You get on and you do the right things.  I haven't changed what I have done.  I will continue to do that.  The results will come.  I have no doubt about that."

United's early struggles aren't lost on Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu, who sees the opportunity for an upset.

"I have watched most of United's recent matches and can say that David Moyes hasn't found his best lineup yet, as he is changing four or five players from game to game," Lucescu told reporters.  "The link-up play between their players is not as good as it used to be so the team suffers, which is happening with us too because Shakhtar have a lot of new players."

Even with new players, the Ukrainian team has found ways to win, including a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad in their opening Champions League match.

Wednesday is the first meeting between United and Shakhtar.

Van Persie could start for United.  Shakhtar is without Wellington Nem, according to United's website.
