A South Dakota tribe is looking to build the nation's first marijuana resort, complete with its very own farm, nightclub and smoke lounge, according to the Denver Post. The Santee Sioux tribe has built casinos and run ranches and hotels, but now, with the constant struggle of competing with other businesses, it's looking to stand out from the pack with a marijuana resort.

The resort would grow and sell its own marijuana and offer visitors the ability to hangout in a smoke lounge, enjoy food, drink and listen to live music, according to Yahoo News.

"We want it to be an adult playground," said Anthony Reider, president of the tribe. "There's nowhere else in American that has something like this."

The small tribe of around 400 estimates that the resort would generate about $2 million in profit, according to the Daily Mail.

In June, the tribe was given the go-ahead to grow marijuana after a new policy issued by the Justice Department stated that Indian tribes could grow and sell the plant.

The Santee Sioux tribe has plans to sell their first product at a New Year's Eve party this year.

Though not all tribes in the surrounding area are in support of the project, there is some interest in getting involved with the historic resort.
