Two men died, two others were hurt and another person is still missing after a high tide hit the coast of Georgia during a Hindi religious ceremony, officials have reported.

Tybee Island Fire Department reported the victims were trapped in the area of Tybee Island during Sunday afternoon located near Savannah, Ga., which faces the Atlantic Coast.

The two who were killed died of drowning and were declared dead at the Memorial University Medical Center, while the situation with two injured victims remains undisclosed, NBC News reported.

A fifth man remained missing after the crew suspended their search at 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon and will resume on Tuesday morning, Chief Ashley Fields of the Fire Rescue Department reported.

Worshippers from the local Hindu temple from Georgia and South Carolina were in the area to take part in the Hindu celebration on Sunday. One of the parts of the program was to go out in boats towards the Back River, WSAV 3 reported.

C.B. Yadav, one of the known members of the Indian-American community, already met the family members of the victims.

"It's hard," Yadav said, according to Savannah Morning News. "I want God to give more strength to them because they are young and their kids are very young. They don't know what they have to do."

All of the names of the victims of the tragedy remain undisclosed.
