The two sides will play two T20s and three one day internationals (ODIs) at Harare Sports Club during Pakistan's nine-day tour to Zimbabwe.

Pakistan's T20 skipper Shahid Afridi said that the Zimbabwe tour offered his teammates an opportunity to prepare for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled in March 2016.

"Zimbabwe might not be ranked among the top teams in the world, but they remain a good side in limited-overs matches. The two matches we play against them will be an excellent opportunity for my players and team officials and we plan to use them as a launch pad for the T20 World Cup. We won't take the matches lightly," Afridi said, according to Daily Times,

Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura said that he was looking for a good start so that they can gain momentum ahead of ODI series.

"It's a T-20 match, but what we want is a good start and we know if we can win the first match, it will give us momentum going into the ODI series. We will just try to make use of our conditions to our advantage," said Chigumbura, Zimbabwe Independent reported.

"We also look back at our last series in Lahore, we came close to winning in most of the matches, and so now that we are playing in conditions that we know better than anyone, we are hoping we can finally cross the line," he said.
