Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is expected to return by week seven, according Cowboys executive vice president via dallasnew.com.

"Our prognosis has never changed," said Jones. "I know there have been a lot of people who have doctors on their media staff and like to speculate on these things, but we've been pretty consistent from Day One. At first we thought maybe four to six (weeks) and that changed to six to eight. By the next day we were pretty much thinking six to eight."

Jones said that the team feels that it is a fair goal to have Bryant back after the bye. That would set Bryant's return for Oct. 25 against the team he had gotten injured against the New York Giants. The speculation of Bryant's return has been all over the map, and some thing he won't be back until after Tony Romo has returned.

The Cowboys are undefeated after two weeks, but they have lost both their star receiver in Bryant, and their quarterback in Romo. Romo broke his collarbone against the Eagles last Sunday, and his return status is also not definitive.

The Cowboys meet another undefeated team in week three as they play the Atlanta Falcons. The Cowboys are expected to go with quarterback Brandon Weeden, but they did trade for Matt Cassel in case of poor play by Weeden. Weeden will likely look to throw to targets like Jason Witten, Cole Beasley, and Terrance Williams without Bryant on the field. The exact time of Bryant's return is unknown, but clearly the front office wants him back after the bye.
