Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor will play this weekend against the Chicago Bears, according Bob Condotta of seattletimes.com.

"He's been working out really hard, he's really lean and ready to go. He was anticipating coming back with the thought that he worked out really hard to get here so he looked great both days, the hard days of the week. So he looks like he's going to be able to play some football and we are looking forward to that," said head coach Pete Carroll, via seattletimes.com.

"We'll have to see how his timing is making his tackles and making his hits and fits in the running game and all that kind of stuff," he added.

Chancellor ended his holdout and returned to the team facility Wednesday morning. The Seahawks have started the season winless, and are likely happy to have their hard-hitting safety back.

"I've always been a guy who follows my heart, and just watching my teammates and my team play week to week, first, second game, watching those losses, it hurt me being the leader that I am," said Chancellor, via ESPN.

Chancellor is a massive safety at 6-foot-3 and 232 pounds. He can cover top receivers and come up to the line to make tackles on big running backs. Last season with in Seattle, Chancellor recorded 78 combined tackles and also forced a fumble and grabbed an interception.

The Seahawks have given up a combined 61 points through two games, and that is not the same Seattle defense people are accustomed too. The Seahawks play the Chicago Bears this weekend, and the Bears will be without both Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery.

Look for Seattle's defense to go after backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen, and with Chancellor back at the safety position they will likely be less venerable in the aerial game.
