The Chicago Bears will go with quarterback Jimmy Clausen this week as Jay Cutler has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury, but Clausen will have to play without top receiver Alshon Jeffery, as he is also being held out due to a hamstring injury, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times.

Clausen has been preparing to be the starter this week and has been getting reps with the first team during practice, according to Larry Miller of ChicagoBears.com. "The communication between the both of us and Dowell (quarterback coach) I think has been a lot better this week," said Clausen.

Clausen failed to get a touchdown after filling in for the injured Cutler last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Clausen was 14 for 23 passing for 123 yards but threw an interception. The Bears go from playing one NFC West team to another this weekend as they play the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks will be looking for their first win of the season this weekend, and with strong safety Kam Chancellor returning to his team the Seahawks defense will be back to full strength.

Clausen will be without top receiver Jeffery this weekend and will likely look to Eddie Royal and tight end Martellus Bennett as top targets. Running back Matt Forte will likely need a big week if the Bears are to stay competitive in this game. With both Cutler and Jeffery out, Clausen will have a big test this weekend that could affect the rest of his career.
