National polls show that Hillary Clinton is surging ahead of Bernie Sanders again in the Democratic primary, according to Time.

A new CNN/ORC poll puts the former First Lady way ahead of Sanders, at 42 percent in the national polls. Sen. Sanders (I-Vt.), by contrast, is polling at 24 percent. Former Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-Md.) is at one percent. Vice President Joe Biden, who is not currently running in the Democratic primary, is polling at 22 percent. Biden has not definitively said when or if he will run to be President of the United States.

Clinton's poll numbers are up eight points from her former lead over Sanders, 37 to 27. Clinton has been firmly in the lead in national polls, but she has been behind in New Hampshire, according to CNN. Clinton has switched leads with Sanders several times in Iowa.

For the poll, 392 Democrats and Independents were questioned about which candidate they would vote vote over Sept. 17 through 19. The margin of error is plus or minus five points, CNN reported.

When Biden was left out of the survey entirely, Clinton's numbers jumped, according to The New York Daily News. With Biden out of the picture, Clinton polled at 57 percent. Bernie Sanders got 28 in a Biden-free survey.
