Google is going to release the second generation Chromecast this September if a recent flurry of rumors are to be believed.

The new model is creating quite a stir among tech enthusiasts because of the alleged big changes that are going to be introduced. Some of the most important features that the Chromecast will pack include feeds for the device's mains screen, "Fast Play," improved Chromecast Audio, better Wi-Fi performance and a host of other features, according to 9to5Google

A leaked image also shows that the Chromecast might no longer look the same. The blurry photograph - indicates a circular design (in three eye-popping colors), which resembles a balloon, Engadget reported.

As to the details, the content of the display feeds is still unclear. It could, for instance, be taken from the users' social media or data from their devices such as photos. Meanwhile, the "Fast Play" will supposedly work in tandem with the improved Wi-Fi features to allow users a quicker connection and content played seamlessly, 9to5Google reported.

The Chromecast Audio's most exciting feature is the potential to plug the Chromecast device directly to speakers, The Verge reported. In addition, there is the ability for multi-room support and to mirror Chrome or Android audio with high-quality sound.

There is also the possibility of Spotify support, according to Venture Beat.

So far, there is no definite date for Chromecast's launch. Some analysts, however, believe that this will be on Sept. 29, the day Google will unveil its two new Nexus smartphones.
