Today was a big day for Apple.

Not only did Apple announce a new Macbook and the Apple Watch, but it also shared some big news for the Apple TV.

First, Apple announced that it is bringing the Apple TV's original $99 price down to $69. While this is a significant price shift for the device, it's twice as much as the $35 Google Chromecast.

On top of the price change, Apple announced that it is going to be the exclusive partner for HBO Now's upcoming premiere. Reports came out last week about HBO Now becoming the official subscription service for viewers who did not want to pay for a cable package to get access for a long time. There were also early rumors that Apple was going to be the exclusive platform for HBO Now. Thankfully, Apple alleviated all speculation by announcing its exclusive partnership with HBO for the debut of HBO Now.

According to HBO CEO Richard Plepler, HBO Now users will have access to all HBO content from the past and future, as well as access to the latest films.

"All you need to get HBO Now is a broadband connection and an Apple device," he said.

The HBO Now app will only be available on the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. This exclusive agreement will only be for the first three months, according to Brian Stelter of CNNAfter that, HBO will begin to release apps for Android, Roku and Chromecast users.

All Apple users who subscribe to the service in April will receive a free month's subscription. Subscriptions will cost $15 a month after that.

HBO also unveiled a new "Game of Thrones" trailer while on stage.
