Megan Fox is returning to television after nearly 10 years. The 29-year-old actress will join the cast of "New Girl in a recurring role during the fifth season, according to Deadline.

Fox will play Reagan, a gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who rents out Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) room while she serves long-term jury duty. She will make her debut in episode six, which will air in January.

"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it," "New Girl" creator and executive producer Liz Meriwether said of Fox (via Deadline). "I've been a fan of her comedic skills since 'This Is 40,' and I'm so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up."

The "Transformers" star last appeared on television in "Hope & Faith" before starring in big screen features. She will next star opposite James Franco in "Zeroville" and reprise her role as April O'Neil in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sequel.

Over the summer, Fox split from her husband Brian Austin Green after 11 years. The couple share two sons - 2-year-old Noah and 18-month-old Bodhi.
