San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush is questionable to return this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

The 49ers held a walk-through practice on Wednesday, but if it were a full practice Bush would have had to sit out, according to Matt Maiocco.

49ers head coach Jim Tomsula said Bush had suffered a calf strain against the Minnesota Vikings Monday night. Bush was reportedly schedule for an MRI, but no results have been released at this time.

"He looked good," said Tomsula, via ESPN. "I mean, he's not running yet, but he looks fine and they're treating him and he's going to get everything checked out."

Tomsula said that if Bush can play, then he will play, but that they don't want to turn a small injury into something larger by rushing him back, via ESPN. Bush was one of the big transactions the 49ers made this offseason. After losing Frank Gore to the Colts, San Francisco signed Bush to a one-year deal worth a reported $2.5 million.

Bush has been injury prone since entering the league back in 2006. In the nine previous seasons he has only completed a 16-game season twice. Bush can have an impact though; back in 2013 for the Detroit Lions he rushed for 1,006 yards and scored seven touchdowns between receiving and rushing.

Luckily for 49ers fans, they have Carlos Hyde, who looked dominant on Monday night. Hyde's performance was huge, as he rushed for 168 yards and scored two touchdowns. Bush is unlikely to play and if he does, he could likely re-injure himself. Don't expect a big night from Bush, because even if he does play Hyde will likely get the bulk of the carries.
