Plot:

Alice tells the story of a beloved genie named Cyrus who she met along with some interesting creatures—a White Rabbit who talks, a caterpillar who smokes hookah and an evil queen who knows everything—in a far away land she traveled to through a rabbit hole. On her travels she and the genie fight an epic battle against the queen’s forces and she believes him to be dead. Her story gets her put into a mental hospital where the doctors convince her to try a treatment that will allow to her to forget everything. However, the day of the treatment, The Knave of Hearts breaks into the hospital and tells Alice the genie is alive. Now that she’s broken out of the hospital, she and her team must fight to get back the love of her life.

Preliminary Pro:

Much like “Once Upon a Time” this is an excellent chance to have the fairy tales you grew up with as a child come to life, with a few variations. It should be fun to explore the different areas of Wonderland and see what foes Alison, the Knave and the Rabbit, have to face.

Preliminary Con:

Either one or both of the series—“Once Upon a Time” and “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”—could suffer from the spin-off. It’s possible that OUPW could take characters from OUP and vice versa. For example, Jafar is appearing in OUPW even though I’d much rather see Emma and her crew take down the villain from Aladdin in OUP. Although it’s possible the writers and producers could use characters in both shows, if they decide not to do too much crossover it could hurt both series. Let’s hope the two shows are in share a few characters.
