Starring:

Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson

Brett Dalton as Grant Ward

Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons

Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May

Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz

Chloe Bennett as Skye

Plot:

The not-so-dead agent Coulson is back and he’s ready to lead a new S.H.I.E.L.D. team as they attempt to do what S.H.I.E.L.D. does best—protect humans from people with super powers in any shape or form. In addition to his team of Ward (trained spy), May (martial arts and pilot), Simmons (bio-chemistry) and Fitz (engineer) is new girl Skye, a hacker who will have a lot to learn and will have to do it on the job.

Preliminary Pro:

When you have the Marvel comics at your disposal, things are really good. In addition to any comic-based super heroes we may see in the show, the production team also has the option of creating some of their own. There could be new extraordinary people each week and which could mean fun things for viewers. There’s also the potential of providing back story into the lives of the six main characters. (Maybe one of our Avengers will guest star?)

Preliminary Con:

Joss Whedon already told reporters in an interview earlier this year that the show won’t advance or affect the story for the second Avengers movie. There is a lot of hype surrounding this show because of the movie. If there is no way the two will be related (or if they are related minimally), that could mean disappointment for fans expecting a good amount of crossover from the blockbuster film.
