On NBC's newest variety show "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris," the former "How I Met Your Mother" star is taking his hosting and comedy skills to a whole new level. The actor will host a live, one-hour show that brings a mix of comedy skits, stunts, pranks, performances, game shows, audience giveaways and celebrity appearances, according to an NBC press release.

"'Best Time Ever' is the biggest show I've ever been a part of," Harris says in an exclusive first-look of the upcoming show. "It's essentially seven shows happening simultaneously. It's a party."

One skit shows Harris undergoing a makeover to go undercover and pretend to be an interviewer on the set of NBC's "The Voice." The skit shows Harris pulling pranks on Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Carson Daily.

"I'm very excited for the show to happen," Harris says. "Once we do one live show I'm hoping that people can see what it is."

Another prank shows Harris photobombing two unsuspecting women as they pose for photos in a photo booth, and the women scream and jump with a look of terror on their faces. Another skit involves celebrity hidden camera pranks, featuring "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and "30 Rock" star Jane Krakowki.

"There will be game elements, we'll have celebrity hidden camera pranks," Harris explains. "I was drawn to this show 'cause it's a game changer. People need a reason to watch the show when it's actually happening. You have to see it live, that's why you want to watch TV and why you want to watch our show."
