"Sister Wives" star Maddie Rose Brown is engaged to boyfriend Caleb Brush. The 19-year-old reality star shared the details of her big proposal to People.
"It was cold and we were huddled in jackets and I thought he was crazy to stop," she said. "He said to come look over here. So I walked with him to the edge. He told me he could never express how much he loved me, but he wanted to spend his life trying, and went down in one knee and pulled out a box.
"I started kissing him and saying, 'Yes, yes!'"
Brush, 28, kept it traditional by asking her Maddie's father, Kody, for his daughter's hand in marriage, according to the TLC network. The 28-year-old, who repairs equipment in mines for a living, took his fiancée-to-be to a scenic lookout point on his ATV and surprised her with a blue diamond ring.The reality star admitted that she and Brush are planning a "wonderful outdoor wedding, hopefully in the country."
Maddie is the daughter of Kody and Janelle Brown, who are known for their polygamy lifestyle that is documented on TLC's hit reality series, but the reality star revealed that she has no intention of following in her parents' marital footsteps.
"We are not living plural marriage," Brush said. "We support Maddie's family with their choice of living plural marriage and they support us with our choice in just marrying each other."
TLC network confirmed the couple's engagement in a post, which read, "Love is in the air for Sister Wives' daughter Maddie who is newly engaged to fiance Caleb Brush! Despite growing up in a polygamist family, Maddie and Caleb are opting to have a monogamous marriage."
Her family congratulated Maddie on social media. Maddie's sister, Mykelti, wrote, "My wonderful sister @MaddieR_Brown is engaged!!! And to an incredible man." Kody's third wife, Christine, tweeted, "Seriously?! They're perfect together. Congratulations @MaddieR_Brown and Caleb," she tweeted.
"Congratulations @MaddieR_Brown I love you!.... and Caleb too!" her dad tweeted after the announcement was made.
It is unclear if Brown and Brush's wedding will be featured in the upcoming episodes of "Sister Wives." "Sister Wives" returns Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on TLC.
