Two football players from the University of Utah where shot during a party on Sunday. The victims were Lo Falemaka, a sophomore tight end, and Marcel Brooks-Brown, a freshman running back. Their football coach, Kyle Whittingham, announced that the two players are expected to recover from their injuries. It is still unclear when the two students will be back in the playing field, but their coach hopes that it will happen anytime in the near future.

''Obviously, our first concern is that both Lo and Marcel are going to be OK, which appears to be the case,'' Whittingham said, according to the Associated Press.

The 20-year-old sophomore and the 18-year-old freshman were shot in their torsos, but were immediately rushed to the hospital and are now stabilized.

"We don't have all of the details yet, but it is our understanding that they are the victims in this incident and we feel very fortunate that they are expected to fully recover. It is unknown at this time how soon they will be able to return to the football field, but we are optimistic it will be in the near future," the coach said, 247 Sports reported.
