The funeral and visitation schedule has been set for fallen Lansing, Mich., Firefighter Dennis Rodeman, according to the Detroit News. Visitation will be held at Lansing's Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Michigan State University's Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Married just two months, and expecting their first child, Rodeman was a 7-year member of the Lansing Fire Department, according to WXYZ, and also a veteran Marine of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 24th Marine Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps.

The decorated veteran was struck and killed Wednesday while collecting money for the annual "Fill the Boot" fundraising campaign for Muscular Dystrophy.

Grant Taylor, 22, is accused of intentionally running over Rodeman with his pickup truck.

Lansing police Capt. Jim Kraus said Taylor "was upset for whatever reason," and said early investigation into the tragedy shows "he deliberately hit the firefighter who was standing in the road collecting for the charity."

Taylor and Rodeman appeared to have had some sort of confrontation, and moments later Taylor circled back and hit Rodeman, crossing lanes in order to run him over, said witnesses, according to the Fire Critic. Taylor is being charged with murder, leaving the scene and fleeing and eluding.

Rodeman was wearing a reflective vest and other gear, when hit at about 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
