Taylor Swift has made it no secret that she loves Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and its leading lady, Mariska Hargitay. She may soon get the ultimate fan experience with a guest-starring role on the NBC drama.

"We just talked about it," Hargitay told Entertainment Tonight about having Swift on the show. "We're going to wait until the end of the [1989 World] tour to see how it goes. But it's in the air."

Swift's tour is scheduled to wrap up in December. The two women already teamed up earlier this year in the pop star's music video "Bad Blood," and Swift has a cat named after Hargitay's "SVU" character, Olivia Benson.

"SVU" casting director Jonathan Strauss first floated the idea of Swift guest starring on the show last September via Twitter. Hargitay endorsed the tweet and replied, "I could use the backup."

Swift's previous TV credits include "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "New Girl" as well as roles in the movies "Valentine's Day," "The Lorax" and "The Giver."

In the meantime, the Emmy-winning actress and her executive producer Warren Leight suggested to ET that they're thinking about getting a "squad room cat" and naming it Taylor.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will return for its 17th season on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
