Eddie Murphy will be receiving the 18th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. After several hilarious years on "Saturday Night Live" and countless movies, Murphy is one of the greatest comedians of his time and well-deserving of this top award.

The ceremony will take place at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on October 18, according to the Kennedy Center press release. The prize honors those who influence society in the tradition of Samuel Clemens, the writer and satirist known as Mark Twain.

Huge names in comedy like Dave Chappelle, Kathy Griffin and Chris Rock will be honoring the 54-year-old comedian with this legendary award. Whitney Cummings, Arsenio Hall, Sam Moore, Kevin Nealon, Trevor Noah, Jay Pharoah, and Joe Piscopo will also be in attendance to salute Murphy.

"I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Kennedy Center," Murphy said when he found out the news. "And to join the distinguished list of past recipients of this award."

Past winners include Ellen DeGeneres, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Lorne Michaels, Whoopie Goldberg, Neil Simon, and many more who have kept us laughing over the past several years, according to PBS.

The tribute will broadcast on PBS on November 23.
