Imagine a world where the two best team in MLS and the Premier League played each other once a year. That dream is close to becoming a reality, according to Sky Sports

MLS Commissioner Don Garber is seeking to hold an annual "Anglo-American Cup" in New York City that pits two MLS clubs and two Premier League clubs against each other. The MLS Cup winner and Supporters Shield winner would represent the American side while the FA Cup winner and Premier League winners would represent the English side.

Communication between Garber and Premier League officials is already underway, according to Bleacher Report

"We have been talking to the Premier League about doing some sort of official competition - as opposed to just having clubs come over to the country on a random basis - playing in a tournament that takes place every summer.

"I would love to find a way that we could play our cup champion and our league champion against an FA Cup and league champion in a tournament and play it in New York City every year. If not every year, then every four years," stated Garber.

A tournament of this nature is a great idea and something that should be considered going forward. It will help the growth of MLS in England and the Premier League in America.
