Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is a hot transfer target for January, according to Bleacher Report. Everton, Swansea City and Valencia are the three clubs expressing interest in the French defenseman.

This report emerged just a few days after Debuchy revealed in an interview with L'Equipe that he thought about leaving Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Debuchy is worried about his lack of playing time at Arsenal hurting his chances of making the French Euro 2016 squad.

"It is difficult. Even though I did not play a lot last season, in my head, I was coming back as a starter in pre-season. It was a surprise and a disappointment [to find out otherwise]. Let's just say it crossed my mind [to leave Arsenal]. I want to be at Arsenal and to take my place back. [Arsene Wenger] told me that nothing was set in stone and that there are a lot of matches to be played this season. He knows that I am worried because, at the end of the season, there is an important occasion [Euro 2016]. You have to start for your club in order to start for your national team," said Debuchy.

Debuchy has not been with the Gunners long. He joined from Newcastle in 2014 and was hindered by injuries, but still remained confident he would start when coming back this season. Instead, it is Hector Bellerin who stole the starting job from Debuchy, thus causing his mind to think of a move from the North London club.

A move away from Arsenal is possible for the 30-year old Debuchy, especially if he continues to see little to no playing time under Arsene Wenger.
