On the one-year anniversary of her death, friends and family of the late Joan Rivers paid tribute to her legacy as a mother, friend and comedian. Take a look at some of the fondest memories of Rivers, as told by those closest to her.

Melissa Rivers posted a touching tribute via Joan's official Twitter account, People reported.

"Today marks one year since my mother passed," Melissa, 47, wrote in the statement. "This was a year of firsts: first holidays, first birthdays, first everythings without mom, without grandma. While it's been difficult, I've been amazed by the outpouring of love and overwhelming kindness we've received from family, friends and people whose lives were touched by the woman they knew as Joan - a woman we all miss very much."

Some of Joan's closest friends have planned a private memorial service for Joan on Tuesday, located in the heart of New York City's theater district. Margie Stern, a friend of Joan's since the two met at a dinner party in 2009, will be in attendance.

"I haven't stopped thinking about her," Stern told the New York Daily News. "I've lost other people, but this is different. Joan is irreplaceable."

David Dangle, the CEO of Joan River's QVC fashion line "Classic Collections," told the NYDN that showing up to work at the QVC studios is still a struggle one year after Joan's passing.

"Every time I pull into the QVC grounds in Pennsylvania, I have a pang," Dangle said. "The green room was a place where Joan would do standup. It's not as much fun. Now it's just me."

ABC's "The View," the daytime talk show of which Joan was a regular guest, also paid tribute to her by posting some of her funniest moments on the show, and Joan's hit E! series "Fashion Police" aired a similar tribute episodes, as previously reported by HNGN.
