This week marks the anniversary of comedienne Joan Rivers' death, and the return of her hit show "Fashion Police." To make sure her legacy lives on in the E! fashion critique show, her daughter Melissa Rivers took over hosting duties, reported Us Weekly.

The first new episode of "Fashion Police" debuted after the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, giving the cast a lot of material to work with. This season's panelists include Melissa, Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, who were joined by celebrity guests NeNe Leakes and Margaret Cho.

One of the biggest changes this season (besides the lineup) is the addition of "What Would Joan Say?" — a new segment where the hosts guess what Joan would have thought about a certain celebrity's look.

"I mean, honestly, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't personally see something and think 'What would my mom say about this?'" said Melissa as she introduced the new segment.

The first celeb to be featured was Justin Bieber, who was one of Joan's favorite targets, said Melissa. Then her co-hosts took turns commenting on Bieber's look for the VMA red carpet.

"Yes, honey. Yes, Justin is back," said Leakes. "But it looks like he forgot his brush."

"Kate Gosselin called. She wants her hair back," quipped Rancic.

"I just hope that jacket is pleather cause even if one animal died for this stupid look, it's a tragedy," said Cho in her best Joan impersonation.

But that wasn't Cho's best delivery of the night. The comedian poked fun at Rancic's controversial comment on Disney star Zendaya's dreadlocks at the Oscars earlier this year. Cho echoed the same comment when discussing Miley Cyrus' dreadlocked ponytail at the VMAs, according to the Wrap.

"It looks like she got in a fight with duct tape and a chandelier and the b---h won," said Cho as Rancic hid her face. "That hair looks like it smells like weed and patchouli oil."
