It's time to add another casting rumor for "Star Wars: Episode VII" to the dustbin as the actor involved has denied that he will appear in the highly anticipated revival of the landmark science fiction franchise.

Jonathan Rhys Myers, known mostly for playing Henry VIII on "The Tudors," has told Entertainment Weekly that fans shouldn't believe the rumors that he will be appearing on the dark side of the force in the upcoming J.J. Abrams film.

"Look, I've worked with J.J.," Rhys Myers said. "But I don't believe in rumors."

For the most part Rhys Myers has avoided appearing in big budget blockbusters, and "Star Wars: Episode VII" is aiming to be the biggest big budget blockbuster, with the one notable exception being "Mission: Impossible III."

There have been seemingly hundreds of rumors about who will be appearing in the new film; just as soon as a new one pops up it gets squashed by the actor involved. The one rumor that has had staying power is that the new film will see the return of the main stars from the original trilogy.

Adding fuel to that fire are comments made by one of Mark Hamill's best friends Robert Englund. The actor best known for playing the sweater clad killer Freddy Krueger says that his buddy Hamill is getting into shape to prepare for a return as Luke Skywalker, according to Metro.

"Mark now - they've got Mark in the gym, because Mark's coming back as Luke Skywalker," Englund told the website Comicbook. "They've got him doing his sit ups."

It had been previously reported by the Sun that executives at Disney weren't pleased with the current physiques of Hamill and Carrie Fisher and that they were hoping Luke and Leia could slim down a bit before filming began on "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Disney has not confirmed any of the actors for the upcoming film but the comments by Englund make it seem pretty likely that Hamill and friends will be returning to the galaxy far, far away.
