One of these days J.J. Abrams and his team are going to announce who is going to be starring in the much anticipated "Star Wars: Episode VII" but until then it appears as if the following cycle will continue; rumor that Star A will be in the film, a group of "Star Wars" fans react angrily to rumor, a separate group of "Star Wars" fans gets excited about the rumor, after two days the rumor is refuted.

The most recent instance of this was with "Star Trek: Into Darkness" star Benedict Cumberbatch. Many fans, this write included, were more than a little miffed at the idea of Khan showing up in the "Star Wars" universe. It turns out all of the uproar was over nothing.

"There is no truth to the rumor Benedict has been cast in 'Star Wars,'" Cumberbatch's representative told the New York Daily News. "I think the rumors are circling because J.J. and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on 'Star Trek.'"

Moving right on to the next potential casting rumor the website Jedi News is reporting that Liam McIntyre, most known for playing the titular character on "Spartacus," has read for a role in the upcoming movie. It is not known what role McIntyre read for exactly, only that he would play a Jedi, according to Jedi News.

While still only a rumor this one carries a bit more weight than many of the others since it involves an actor saying he read for a part; the majority of the rumors so far have been based off of actors saying that they like the franchise and/or they would like to be a part of an upcoming film.

McIntyre joins Rachel Hurd-Wood as actors who have been rumored to have actually read for a role in the film, according to Latino Review.

Filming is expected to begin in January so there will have to be some concrete announcements regarding the cast of the film in the not too distant future. As always, HNGN will have the latest news so don't forget to check back often.
