Lena Dunham isn't the biggest fan of Justin Bieber's new song. The Canadian pop star made his official comeback at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. After a 30-day countdown on Instagram, he released the video for his new single "What Do You Mean?" immediately following the awards ceremony to much acclaim, but the actress wasn't pleased with his new song's lyrics, the Hollywood Reporter reported, intimating that the song promotes rape.

"Let's do away with pop songs where a girl nods yes when she means no and vice versa, k?" the "Girls" actress tweeted on Monday, hours after Bieber's video premiered. She didn't directly mention his song, but the jab loosely referenced the lyrics in "What Do You Mean?"

"What do you mean? / When you nod your head yes / But you wanna say no / What do you mean?" the singer croons on his new single. He revealed the meaning behind the lyrics in an "On Air" interview with Ryan Seacrest.

"Well, girls are often just flip-floppy," Justin told Seacrest. "They say something and they mean something else. So ... what do you mean? I don't really know, that's why I'm asking."

Dunham's tweet was interpreted as her alluding that Bieber's lyrics promote rape culture by questioning consent, but she quickly squashed the beef with a side-by-side photo of her and Bieber wearing identical haircuts.

"How could anyone think I have an issue with Bieber?" she wrote.
