Wang Baocheng of Weifang, a city in Shandong province, China, is being hailed as a hero after saving a little girl who had been hanging by her neck outside a fourth-floor window off the side of her family's apartment building. His courageous actions aside, what was even more amazing is the fact that he saved her life by using a regular, nondescript mop, according to MSN News.

"I heard her calling for help and quickly ran over. I saw that the girl's head was stuck and it was holding her up," he said in an interview with CCTV, China's state-owned television network.

Wang was walking along the residential area when he heard the toddler screaming for help. After spotting her, he quickly raced up four flights of stairs to rescue the child, using a mop he found on the way, reports The Independent.

He then went to an adjacent window and climbed onto the ledge, holding the toddler in place until her parents came home and brought her inside about 10 minutes later.

"When I got upstairs I grabbed onto the window and used a mop to support her," Wang further said.

The child was alone in the apartment during the time of the incident. She had managed to crawl out the window and had fallen off. Thankfully, her head got stuck in the bars, which stopped her from experiencing a fatal fall.
