A mother praised the heroism of an eight-year-old boy who saved the life of her baby from a river in Newnan, Ga., reported Sun Times.

Briana Mallory, along with her infant Aubriella, were tubing in Helen over the weekend when the water level suddenly increased from knee-deep waters to about 8-feet deep, causing the tube she and her baby were in to capsize, according to Fox 5.

Mallory said her 7-month-old daughter was wearing a life jacket, but that didn't help to stay afloat because of the intensity of the current. She was terrified until an eight-year-old boy from Sandersville came to their rescue. Brayden Wood put out his hand and pulled the baby to safety, said Mallory, according to Wave 3.

Brayden is familiar with the concept of heroism since his father is a volunteer firefighter in Sandersville. Aubriella parents couldn't thank Brayden enough for saving their beloved daughter's life. They said there was another man from Atlanta by the name of Ryan Coleman, who brought the toddler to shore as soon as Brayden pulled her out of the river and are grateful to him for his help as well.
