Kanye West went on an epic rant after accepting the Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) on Sunday, apologizing to Taylor Swift, admitting to smoking weed before the show and rambling about art and artists before ending with his declaration of a presidential run in 2020, according to VoxThe bold declaration was made towards the end of the 10-minute speech for the lifetime achievement award, presented to him by none other than Taylor Swift, The Verge reported.

Swift introduced the “FourFiveSeconds” singer by quoting his infamous 2009 VMA interruption, where he rushed the stage and grabbed the mic from Swift, claiming his friend Beyonce was a more worthy recipient.

"I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish but Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time," Swift said as West prepared to deliver his speech.

"If I had to do it all over again, what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank half a bottle of Hennessy and gave the rest of it to the audience...? If I had a daughter at that time would I have gone on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else?" West explained that being a father has changed the way he looks at the moment, according to E!.

West then went on about defending artistry, the hypocrisy of media, the ridiculousness of award shows and even admitted to smoking marijuana before getting up on stage “to take the edge off.”
