Tropical storm Erika which formed on Monday night is expected to bring another round of rainfall as it follows the same track as Tropical Rainstorm Danny across the Northern Caribbean islands.

"Erika will closely follow the track of Danny and approach the Leeward Islands later this week," said Matt Rinde, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist, as reported by the AccuWeather.

Erika, the fifth tropical storm of the season is now located 840 miles east of the Leeward isalnds.

"Erika will be moving through an environment with warm waters and generally low wind shear. This environment will be conducive for further development over the next couple days," said Robert Richard, AccuWeather Meteorologist, according to AccuWeather.

"All interests in the Northeast Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida and the Southeast United States should closely monitor the progression of this system," said Dan Kottlowski, AccuWeather Hurricane Expert, by AccuWeather.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center said that Erika had not changed its strength, though being forecasted to strengthen into a weak hurricane over the Bahamas by weekend. Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Saba and St. Eustatius are in tropical storm watch as the possibility of tropical storm conditions are present in the said areas within 48 hours, according to CNN.

The US government forecasted six to ten named storms, four of them reaching the hurricane status of 74 mph or 119 kph, according to Yahoo News.
