Singer Frank Ocean has canceled his appearance this weekend at FYF Fest in Los Angeles, and Kayne West has stepped in to replace him and will headline the first night of the music festival.

The announcement came Thursday afternoon, just days before the before the festival was set to kick off. "Frank Ocean has decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance; due to this change, Kanye West will now headline Saturday night's Main Stage," FYF said in a press release.

Ocean was expected to perform brand new material from his highly-anticipated follow-up to 2012's Grammy winning "channel ORANGE." The long-awaited album was supposed to drop sometime in July after the singer posted an incredibly vague Tumblr post in April, which pictured Ocean looking down at two stacks of magazines called "Boys Don't Cry." "I got two versions. I got twoooo versions...," he wrote alongside a handful of promising hashtags that included #ALBUM3 and #JULY2015," The Los Angeles Times reported.

The release of an album and a new publication from the singer was confirmed shortly after his online announcement with both set to arrive in July, according to his reps, but nothing happened.

Ocean's publicist released a statement early Friday morning regarding the cancellation of the Los Angeles music festival. "We're really sorry that due to a scheduling conflict beyond our control, Frank Ocean is not going to be able to appear at FYF Festival as planned. Frank had really been looking forward to the performance and to seeing all of his fans, so it is with great regret that we announce this cancellation," the statement said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Other acts at FYF Fest include Bloc Party, Chet Faker, Morrissey, Flume and FKA Twigs.
