ABC has resurrected its plans to give "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood their own series within the Marvel universe, just don't call it a spinoff.

The network is close to ordering a pilot that will focus on "S.H.I.E.L.D." characters Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird (Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Blood), according to Variety. The series, titled "Marvel's Most Wanted," will follow the couple on their own set of adventures.

The show is not considered a spinoff of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." but rather a continuation of the two characters' story together. ABC has not announced a premiere date or how it would introduce the show. One possibility is a back door pilot this season on "S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski co-created the Mockingbird project and co-wrote the pilot. They will serve as showrunners and executive producers along with the Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb who would also executive produce.

ABC shot down the original plans for a spinoff featuring Palicki and Blood this past spring, but network president Paul Lee announced the possibility of rebooting the idea at the Upfronts presentation in May.

Palicki and Blood will return to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." when the show premieres its third season on Sept. 29. A second season of Marvel's "Agent Carter" will return for a second season on ABC at midseason and the network continues to develop a top-secret Marvel project with John Ridley.
