Javin DeLaurier is a name on the rise in the recruiting class of 2016. Just four months ago DeLaurier wasn't even considered a top 150 prospect in his class but now he is a consensus top 50 player and is continuing to rise. DeLaurier is in the process of trying to figure out which school he wants to play his college basketball at and has reportedly scheduled three visits for the fall, according to Evan Daniels of Scout.com.

The three visits DeLaurier has scheduled are to Notre Dame on September 5th, Texas on September 12th, and although it's not official a visit to Stanford on October 3rd is reportedly very likely. DeLaurier has not yet officially cut down his list but the top schools on it include the three he is visiting along with Vanderbilt, Princeton, Louisville and Virginia Tech among others.

DeLaurier is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia but as of right Texas is the early favorite to land him, according to 247 Sports. Vanderbilt is also a popular prediction for where DeLaurier will end up but all of the most recent predictions have been Texas and his list of visits makes it seem like Texas is more likely than Vanderbilt at least at this point.

Shaka Smart is the new head coach at Texas after having the same position at VCU for six seasons. Smart is a great coach and a tremendous recruiter and would love to add DeLaurier to his 2016 class that already has four-star point guard Jacob Young as a commit.

DeLaurier is a 6 foot-9 four-star power forward that is ranked as the ninth best power forward and the 48th best player overall in the 2016 class, according to ESPN. Like most tall players going into college DeLaurier will need to put on weight and bulk up before he gets to school but his stock has been rising so much due to his athletic ability and great rebounding. DeLaurier has developed a more diverse offensive game and has the ability to guard both on the perimeter and in the paint so once he puts it all together he can become a great college basketball player.
