Eron Gordon is the 17-year-old younger brother of Evan Gordon and most notably Eric Gordon, the current New Orleans Pelicans star. Eron, a four-star recruit, is ready to make his college decision as he is a member of the 2016 recruiting class, and it is being reported that he will announce his college decision this Saturday, according to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.

Gordon currently has his final list of schools down to LSU, Indiana, Butler, Nevada, Notre Dame, Auburn, Purdue and Nebraska. Many have assumed that Eron will choose to attend Indiana because both of his brothers played there for one season, but that may not be the case, according to his father.

"I hate when those assumptions pop up because there's no assumption right now at all. I think a lot of schools do assume, but I look at each one of my son's individually. What Eric needed and what Evan needed may not be what Eron needs. I'm just looking at what fits in best for them," said Eric Gordon Sr.

As of right now, the favorite to land the four-star shooting guard is LSU, according to 247 Sports, with Indiana being a close second. Gordon is from Indianapolis, Ind., which would also seem helpful in getting a commitment from him if you're Indiana, but many experts see him choosing to go down south. If Gordon does commit to LSU, he would be their third commitment in the 2016 class and would become their best 2016 commit immediately. As of right now, LSU's 2016 class ranks as the 27th best in the nation.

Eron is not as highly regarded a prospect as his brother Eric was when he went to Indiana (Eric was the top ranked recruit back in 2007) as he is not in ESPN's top 100, but there are outlets that think more highly of him than that. 247 Sports has Gordon ranked as the 15th best shooting guard and the 97th best player overall in the 2016 recruiting class.

Gordon is a 6-foot-3 guard who is an outstanding scorer, but he also has a tremendous feel for the game and the ability to play both guard spots. Gordon will have to work on his defensive ability but by all accounts has the physical gifts to be a good defender in college. Gordon may not be the type of prospect his brother was coming out of high school, but he certainly will help whichever school he decides to play his college basketball at.
