For those of you worrying that “Under the Dome” will play out by the book, so to speak, there’s some good news according to TVLine.com.

“There is a final ending for Under the Dome that is different than the book,” said Dean Norris, who plays Big Jim. “And when it was pitched to Stephen King, he said, ‘Wow. I wish I’d thought of that.’”

Monday’s episode of “Under the Dome” was the prequel to the season finale on September 16. In the second-to-last episode we figured out why the dome doesn’t particularly like Big Jim.

Let’s go over the things he did in “Exigent Circumstances”:

--Kills Dodee

--Locks up two innocent children

--Attempts to blackmail Barbie into a false confession.

At the end of the episode the mini dome was going nuts, leaving us in suspense as to what is going to happen in the season finale. And according to Norris, something is going to happen in the season finale.

“You’re going to learn a lot about the Dome,” said Norris hinting at next week’s season finale. “It’s all very satisfying and it will make you go, ‘Oh, wow. OK, how are they going to play that out in Season 2?’ It sets up for a great second season.”

"Under the Dome" has been the No. 1 show of the summer and has continued to keep us on the edge of our seats week after week. It's only right that they end with a bang.

The season finale airs Monday, Sept. 16 at 10/9c on CBS.
