Columbus Short is in trouble with the law - again. The 32-year-old former "Scandal" star was arrested during his album release party in a club at Universal Studios City Walk in Los Angeles Tuesday.

TMZ reported that Short was apprehended Tuesday by bounty hunters and police officers before heading into the club for soundcheck after a judge issued a bench warrant for failure to appear in court for one of his domestic violence cases.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the actor turned rapper was seen yelling and defending himself against the officers, reportedly claiming that he did not feel safe in their custody. The officers reportedly showed up to the club because they believed Short was going to flee the country and were told they would "get a cut of his $500,000 bail."

In July 2014, Short was arrested for public intoxication at local bar Katy Trail Ice House in Dallas, Entertainment Weekly reported. Security confronted the actor when they thought he was trying to leave the bar without paying his tab, which police claimed he ran up for four hours.

During a verbal altercation, Short accused the guard of being a racist and a fight broke out. The altercation was stopped by off-duty officers hired by the bar. During his arrest, the actor was allegedly resistant, even calling one black officer an "Uncle Tom."

Last year, Short pleaded not guilty to felony battery charges following his arrest after getting involved in a bar fight. He was also arrested twice for domestic violence this year, including being accused of threatening to kill his wife and himself with a knife.

The actor was fired from ABC's "Scandal" last fall, after appearing on the hit drama series for three years.
