Zac Efron made an appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon on Monday to promote his upcoming film, "We Are Your Friends." But the heartthrob found himself caught up in a risky game of "Egg Russian Roulette" instead, E! News reported.

The rules of the game? Efron and Fallon were to take turns selecting an egg from a total of a dozen – eight are hardboiled, four are raw – to smash on their heads. Put-backs aren't allowed. The first to select two raw eggs loses the game. As the show's guest, Efron was allowed to choose first.

"I feel like I'm in the last scene of the Deer Hunter right now," the actor said, laughing. "You can kinda tell," he said, shaking his selected egg in his hand.

"You can't tell. I have played the game before," Fallon assured him. "This is what makes it fun."

The fearless actor then smashed his egg on his head, proving that it was hardboiled.

Efron's upcoming film, "We Are Your Friends," follows his character Cole as he chases his dream of becoming a DJ in the Hollywood electronic dance music scene. The movie, directed by MTV Catfish star Max Joseph, will hit theaters this Friday.
