Missing Virginia mother-of-two, Connie Ditto, was found safe and hiding out from her husband, at an Extended Stay America Hotel of Innsbrook, just north of Richmond. While relieved that his wife had been found unharmed, Mark Ditto's elation swiftly turned when his wife took an order of protection against him claiming he assaulted her, which is why she was in hiding. When officers found Connie Ditto, they also found probable cause to file domestic assault charges against Mark Ditto, Henrico Police Lt, Sal Mulé said, according to FOX News. Mulé says the charges stemmed from an incident investigators said occurred a week prior to her disappearance.

Connie Ditto, 41, had gone missing after she told her husband she was going to be checked out by a doctor because she was having some extreme head pain. Soon after she left, Connie Ditto allegedly sent her husband a text messages saying they were taking her to a hospital for x-rays and treatment. She also told him "not to come." The next time Mark Ditto tried to contact his wife, her phone was turned off. Mark Ditto packed up his daughters and drove to the area hospitals for any signs of his wife. None had any record of seeing her earlier, according to the Inquisitr.

Police soon discovered that while Connie did check into the Patient First medical clinic that evening, she left before her name was called, according to an earlier story by HNGN. Mark Ditto reportedly filed a missing persons report the following morning.

Mark Ditto, speaking from the jail, has denied the assault allegations. He states that the allegations stemmed from an August 6th incident in which he claims his wife was drunk and that he and his daughters tried to take the keys away from her so she could not leave the house. Ditto told the media that his wife suffers from alcohol abuse and from depression.
