The highly anticipated Harry Potter spin-off, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," is officially underway, Warner Brothers Entertainment announced Monday morning in a statement. The new Wizarding World series is being filmed in England at Leavesden Studios.

"Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures' highly anticipated feature "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."  The all new adventure is set in the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling in her best-selling Harry Potter books, which were adapted into the highest-grossing film franchise of all time," the official statement reads, according to Yahoo.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is based on a screenplay by Potter author J.K. Rowling and is being directed by David Yates. Yates is responsible for the last four movies in the highly successful "Harry Potter" film franchise. The film is also being produced by David Heyman, a producer on all eight films. The script is the first attempt at screenwriting for Rowling and is inspired by her character Newt Scamander's Hogwarts textbook, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The film is about Newt Scamander, the wizarding world's leading magizoologist, according to Entertainment Weekly. Scamander stops in New York City following his travels to find and document magical creatures. The story takes place seventy years before Harry Potter's adventures at Hogwarts, according to Collider.

Oscar winning actor Eddie Redmayne stars as Scamander. The film also features Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler and two-time Oscar nominee Samantha Morton.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 18, 2016.
