A cat from Oregon named Corduroy has Guinness World Records calling it the oldest living pet feline in the world at 26 years and 13 days old.

The cat has lived with owner Ashley Reed Okura since kittenhood in the rural community of Sisters, Oregon, about 100 miles southeast of Portland. Okura said she was only seven years old when the cat first lived with her, according to Yahoo! News.

“The secret has been allowing him to be a cat — hunting and getting plenty of love,” Okura said, the Snopes reported.

Corduroy, who was born on Born on August 1, 1989, spends a lot of time outdoors and is fond of chasing mice and eating cheddar cheese, Guinness officials reported.

“We are thrilled! I bought Corduroy a mouse to celebrate … it is wonderful to share him with the world,” Okura said upon learning about her cat's achievement.

The previous record-holder was Tiffany Two, who was 26 years and 204 days old when it died last on June 3, 2015.
