Connie Ditto, a 41-year-old mother from Henrico, Va., went missing after she allegedly sent a bizarre text to her husband claiming she was going to the hospital for an X-ray.

Mark Ditto said no one has seen or heard from his wife since Tuesday night when she claimed to have checked herself into a medical clinic after she experienced head pains, according to Fox's Denver affiliate Fox 31.

"I am clueless as to what happened," said Mark, who last spoke to his wife was around 8 p.m. Tuesday while she was at work. "She said she wasn't feeling well and was going to go to a walk-in clinic."

Police soon discovered that while Connie did check into the Patient First medical clinic that evening, she left before her name was called, reported CBS' Virginia affiliate CBS 6.

To add to the mystery, Connie texted her husband from the clinic and told him not to come, informing him she was going to the hospital for X-rays. It was then revealed she turned off her cell phone after the final text.

"Why did she turn her phone off?" Mark asked.

That same night, Mark and his two daughters went to the clinic and hospitals in the area looking for Connie, reported the Daily Mail, and filed a missing persons report the following morning.

He noted that Connie had damaged her head during a fall last week and believes she could be suffering from an internal injury.

"I fear she's driven off somewhere, that's she's blacked out and gone," he added.

Police are investigating the case, including checking Connie's credit card reports.

Connie was driving a dark blue 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan, a small SUV, with Virginia license plate number WLV8676. Mark described her as a Hispanic female, 5'2", 115 pounds, with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Connie's whereabouts is asked to call the Henrico County Police at 804-501-1000.
