"Star Wars" fans can all start venting their frustration now as "The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that there will be no new footage, behind the scenes or trailers at D23.

"It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise," Abrams told Entertainment Weekly. "In the fall, there'll be a trailer."

If no footage will be shown at the expo, what does Lucasfilm have planned for the panel? The event only takes place once every two years, so one would think they would reserve a big reveal for it. Perhaps "Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One" will take center stage? Or maybe Lucasfilm will announce their long rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone film?

Whatever it is, it would be surprising if it wasn't big news. "Star Wars" fans will just have to wait to find out.

The D23 expo will kick off tomorrow, Aug. 14. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
