"The Hangover" and upcoming comedy "Masterminds" star Zach Galifianakis is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. to voice the Joker in "The Lego Batman Movie," according to IGN.

Galifianakis is in the final stages of negotiations, and if everything goes well, he will be joining the likes of Will Arnett, who plays Batman, and Michael Cera, who recently signed on to voice the caped crusader's sidekick, Robin.

Chris McKay, who was an animation supervisor on "Lego Movie," will direct the project, the script for which has been written by author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith. "Lego Movie" directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, whose other credits include "21 Jump Street" and its sequel "22 Jump Street," will produce the movie. "The Lego Batman Movie" is slated to hit theaters in February 2017, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Galifianakis features in the forthcoming comedy "Masterminds," which has been delayed due to Relativity's bankruptcy. He recently wrapped up another comedy, "Keeping Up with the Joneses" starring Gal Gadot and Jon Hamm, and will also be making an appearance on "Baskets," a television show he is co-producing along with Louis C.K, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
