Yet another man has died in this year's traditional, annual bull run in Spain, as a Spanish man who was filming the festivities on his cellphone was gored in the neck after a bull struck him from behind on Sunday, according to The Telegraph. Jesus Hijosa, mayor of Villaseca de la Sagra, a municipality in Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain, where the tragic accident occurred, describes the events that transpired.

"The young man was on the path of a bull run which he was filming with his mobile phone," he said. "A bull surprised him from behind and gored him in the neck."

Despite being taken immediately to a local hospital for treatment, the man, whose identity is unknown at the moment, was pronounced dead immediately, reports The Daily Mail.

Villaseca de la Sagra is one of the towns across Spain that has continued the tradition of holding bull festivals, where crowds of people run ahead of a herd of bulls, as they run freely through the city streets.

The last casualty in the town's annual bull run happened in 2010, when another young man was gored to death during the festivities. In eastern Spain last month, a French national was also killed while watching the festivities, as covered in this HNGN article.

"This sends shivers down our spine... we organise these events as a tradition, so that people can enjoy them, but these things happen," Hijosa said.

"Bulls are dangerous animals and when there are a lot of people some don't pay attention... you have to have your wits about you," he added.
