UPDATE: 5:00 PM: Mayweather confirmed that Berto will be his opponent

The Money Team is back. Floyd Mayweather Jr. took to twitter on Monday to confirm that his next fight, which could also possibly be his last fight, will come in September.

In the wake of his May 2 win over Manny Pacquiao, the always controversial Mayweather was adamant that his next bout will be his last.

"My last fight is in September, then it's time for me to hang it up. You know, I'm almost 40 years old now, I've been in the sport 19 years, I've been world champion for 18 years, and I'm truly, truly thankful and I'm blessed," Mayweather said, via Sports Illustrated.

While Andre Berto is rumored to be Mayweather's combatant, there have been no firm details of who his next opponent will be. TMZ reported in mid-July that while Berto's camp had not yet signed on the dotted line, the two sides were "getting there."

Mayweather has been at the center of several controversies before, during and after his long-awaited fight with Pacquiao. Questions of Mayweather's history of domestic violence have swirled, as has rhetoric between Mayweather and Pacquiao's camp over an apparent injury Pacquiao suffered while training and did not disclose and Mayweather's approach in the ring.
