Ian McShane is coming to Westeros! The Emmy-winning British actor is joining the upcoming sixth season of HBOs "Game of Thrones," Entertainment Weekly reports. McShane is the star of another critically acclaimed HBO show, "Deadwood," which ended in 2006.

It is unknown exactly whom the actor will play on the show, as the new season is surrounded in secrecy. This season is the most mysterious one yet, as the show has caught up with its source material, the "Song of Fire and Ice" series written by George R.R. Martin.

While McShane's character is still under wraps, sources say the actor has a relatively small amount of screen time during the season, yet his character is of key importance to the overall story, according to Entertainment Weekly sources.

McShane, who is known for portraying bad guys, scoundrels and thieves on screen, is currently guesting in the third season of "Ray Donovan," according to CNN. His other notable pieces of work include "Deadwood," "American Horror Story: Asylum," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Season six of "Game of Thrones" is currently in production and is expected to premiere in the spring of 2016.
