An Mi-28N military helicopter crashed during an aerobatic display in the Russian region of Ryazan, leaving one pilot dead.

The helicopter went into a flat-attitude spin and crash-landed, according to a statement by the Russia's Defense Ministry. It crashed into a forest near the airfield and burst into flames due to its impact with the ground.

"The crashed helicopter belongs to Berkut aerobatic team. The MI-28 attack helicopter's control system failed during training," head of the Russian Air Forces, Colonel General Viktor Bondarev said, NBC News reported. "It's alarm system immediately sounded a warning. The pilots did their best to guarantee a safe flight."

Witnesses said that one propeller of the helicopter's tail failed after it finished performing a stunt.

The crash was captured in a video by Ruptly video agency.

Meanwhile, one of the two pilots survived the crash and is in satisfactory condition.

The aerobatics show was a part of the International Army Games which is a competition involving troops from Russia and several other nations.
