A genius panda named Yuan Yuan in Taiwan has seen the perks of being pregnant because of the special treatment she will be given, especially the food.

Female mammals would be given extra snacks, ice blocks, an air-conditioned room and other benefits when keepers learn that they are having a baby.

Yuan Yuan knows pretty well how zookeepers treat pregnant pandas, since she already had one cub, Yuan Zai, that was born in July 2013.

After an artificial insemination in June, the 11-year-old panda started showing signs of pregnancy, which made everyone feel excited, giving her the royal treatment that included her own temperature-controlled room, 24/7 attention, and all the unlimited fruit and fresh bamboo she wanted.

Physical indicators, such as her uterus thickening and increased fecal progesterone concentration, convinced her thrilled zookeepers that she was expecting a second cub, the Daily Mail reported.

However, when experts from the Chinese mainland visited the panda, they determined through an ultrasound that she was not pregnant and that the signs of her pregnancy are already returning to normal.

The panda knew the special treatment given to pregnant females and therefore displayed similar behavioral changes, according to experts.

Yuan Yuan, along with partner Tuan Tuan, was a gift by the Chinese government to Taiwan in 2008. When their names are combined, "Tuan Yuan" means "reunion" in Chinese.
